The 39ers by GlennClovis The 39ers by GlennClovis
Much like the California Gold Rush of 1849, the mining of Helium 3, Gold and Water on the Moon and in the Asteroid Belt has created a new generation of wealth-seekers circa 2039.

In this scene we have mining facilities attached to an asteroid, a nearby processing/docking/storage station, and a few cargo transports.

Exhibit 21: Elements Released

For our 21st release we have decided to explore those fundamental building blocks of life, the elements. Be they the ones that the ancients first believed in; Earth, Air, Fire and Water; or the modern periodic table elements.

Without these basic pieces we would be nothing and we hope to have done their majesty justice. Elements contains over 40 pieces of art and music with contributions from old hands like our founder Jorik Dozey all the way through to the debuts of Courtney Wooster and Breli.

See the whole release here: theluminarium.net/v3/exhibits.…

I only hope that NASAs asteroid capture plans work out. Given that the first commercial fusion stations are supposed to be coming on line at about that time, it seems plausible that we'll have combat space-based versions as well.

Thanks, it's unreal how much time I spend modelling and not painting nowadays.  Not sure if that's a good thing or not ;)

Haha who knows, maybe less productive no of pieces wise. But who knows if that is a good thing or not either!

The coolest thing about your artwork is that the timeframe you set it in is completely plausible as NASA has just completed its first round of reviews of asteroid capturing concepts. I can totally see this happening by 2040.
